Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Have you checked the red/green against a ground for 12v with a meter? By a ground I am thinking one of the studs and nuts that hold down the brackets for the console to the tunnel. I did my X50 the other week and actually used one of these studs for the ground (not the brown wire) and used a connector pin into the telephone socket so I didn't have to splice into any wires.

POST 3Original post

Following is a brilliant good write up for hardwiring... although I may not be totaly objective https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...wiring+dummies Hope that helps

POST 4Original post

Before I had my SRX installed I hooked my 8500 up to the window switches on the console... worked really well, never had an issues.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well i got it done, there ar ea few reasons it took longer then it was supposed to: -first kirby has in his write up that the red and green is switched, that is not the case, it is the green and black that is switched. -then the bloody smart cord that i got was messed, it was wired backwards, the ground was actually the live and the live wire that had the fuse inline was actually supposed to be a ground!! figured this by testing the little pins on the end that looks like a telephone jack, and the live and ground were different (swaped)as compared to the cigerette lighter plug in.... so i had to do some cutting an splicing, but got it all done, and decided to keep the detector just above the dash, for better detection, and since mine is a targa, it does not fit abouve the rearview mirror! thanks for the input !! Shalil

POST 6Original post

Is there anyone that has found a good mounting spot without using the windshield? In California, it is illegal to mount anything to your windshield...at least as I understand it. Anyone have any tips for that?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

do a search, i have seen a plastic mount that goes between the 2 rear seats , it is a forum member that makes them....i think...
