Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I kind of look at it as running higher compressions demands better metal, design and parts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

This weekend I was riding my bike and stopped at Lanai Lookout for anybody thats lived here. I was taking a picture then a young japanese tourist walks up and asked me if the GSX-R1000 was mine. I said yes and he said he has one also. Comparing notes his bike is one year newer. Thats cool, then he asks what kind of car do I have. I say a Porsche 911. He starts laughing loud and says he drives a 911 also. I'm like looking to see if he resembles my Dad in case we are half brothers or something. He gets his phone and shows me a picture of his car and I page through my phone to show him mine. Of course he's driving a 997 not a 1999 911 but hey close enough and you know how those younger guys are having to have newer stuff. Anyway I rode away from that one feeling nice. I just wish a cop had not of crusied between us when I left a little after him and his family pulled out. But maybe its best the cop was there. His face and smile would of had his explotes busted with his family when I'd blast past going into warp speed in seconds. I told my Mom he kind of looked like Dad hehehe.

POST 3Original post

Nice story. BTW, I just bought an '07 GSXR 600 to have fun with while looking for another P-car. The last one I had was a '91, and I still have my '86 750 that is race only Superbike. Even the 600 is crazy fast and amazing in the turns, I find myself playing with and pushing other riders in the canyons. I wonder if I'll ever grow up? I was old when I was racing my '86, lol.

POST 4Original post

It's interesting at a numberof levels in that the recent Road & Track had a note that the Japanese car companies were focusing performance models at the U.S. as the market there was tending to treat cars as appliances. We may see trhe same thing happen here in large cities where traffic congestion ruins the notion of driving performance and pleasure....other than something that is pleasant to sit in while creeping home from work.

But I'm so good looking I drive a 911 The newer bikes are fantastic handling and lots more power. Even the 1000 is less lbs than the old 600's pretty much. Watch out for getting carried away with the higher rpms on the K7 600. I wanted that original GSX-R750. Luck man still having it. I wouldn't sell it for any amount. I kind of look at it as running higher compressions demands better metal, design and parts. I don't think american manufacturers are doing much for improvements. Chryslers old hemi saturn engine was a great engine with 45-50 mpg some times when in australia for a year. Probably imperial gallons but it can't be too far off from 40mpg. I just think the talk is not what the intention is from the manufactirers.

I've got too much invested in it to sell. Hundreds of hours building the motor, and chassis and tuning it. 8 years racing it and getting pitched off several times. It's got the best components in the world too, Mikuni RS, Ohlins, Brembo, Marvic wheels, Yosh, D&D.
