Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2003 C4 Cab with the stock Becker CDR-23 stereo/CD. The radio has never done much for me, and I started doing some research on getting an aftermarket replacement for it. Ideally I want a unit with an output for an MP3, Satellite Radio, and a CD player that plays MP3/WMA files. I've gone to Crutchfield and Circuit City's online site, and in both instances was told that aftermarket stereos wouldn't work. I drove down the the Greensboro, NC Circuit City and the guy pulled it out and took a look and told me that the problem was the wiring. Apparently you have to get some sort of interface to make Porsche's connect to standard stereos. Does anyone have any feedback, experiences or suggestions on what my options would be and any cost estimates?

try: http://www.installer.com/ they don't have the 996 listed on their page but if you call them they might be able to help you. I got my bmw harness from them and it works flawlessly edit: the bmw harnesses are all between 20 and 30 bucks

You need to call Rick Rues at www.reusaudio.com . He has done 1000s of 996 and cabs. His systems are outstanding. They go all over the country to do them. His system for your car has a 10 inch sub in the trunk 3 amps and a second sub in the footwell. You have to hear to believe.
