Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just changed the transmission oil. My car has only 23k miles and look how filthy the oil is! Good news is there's no metal shaving or debris in the oil. Porsche recommend changing the oil at 90k miles. Go figure.
The shifting is much smoother with the fresh oil. In contrast, the fresh oil looks like cooking oil in color and consistency.

I just had a transmission service (with rear & front differential service) yesterday at 81k
My mechanic saved a small plastic cup of the oil to show me, it was like coffee, except with a golden black sheen to it.
No metal shavings but there were some slightly-goey clumps though.
And he showed me the new oil, just like what Ahsai described, like cooking oil.
Looking at drained oil in a pan doesn't really have any significance at all, only that it looks darker than unused oil. Heat and contact with metal parts, bearings, bushings, condensation, oxidation, etc. will all cause oil to look darker. New fresh, clear oil is always better, but usually dark colored oil will still lubricate, cool and work just fine. I like to smear some on a clean white paper towel, then you get a better idea of if and to what extent it is comtaminated with particulate matter that's visable to the eye. Magnification can pick up smaller stuff. Bottom line, it's usually not as bad as it looks.
i use redline...and the local porsche race shop uses it as their fill when customers dont want to shell out for the factory stuff. No problems yet and its cheap enought that i can cut the change intervals down to pretty frequently
I agree it may not be as bad as it looks. The shifting is much smoother now though. I have Porsche ssk so it's quite sensitive to anything not smooth. Also, the ssk may put more stress on the transmission than the stock shift.
It's a simple DIY (check out renntech for instruction). Both my plugs are 10mm hex. The most time consuming part is pumping the oil back in. I used a hand oil pump. 30 pumping to get 1L in and it needed 2.7L.
