Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace rotors' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace rotors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well guys it looks like I am making the move to the 997s. My 996 was my first Porsche and i loved every minute I drove it. It was/is a great car, but I have a nice opportunity to move to the 997S thanks to a relative of mine who has offered me a great deal on the new car. The new one is of course black on black, and comes with just about everything i could ever want on the car. Only 6k miles, nav, sport chrono, ceramic brakes, pse, adaptive sport seats, full leather interior, and probably some other things i have yet to discover. Anyway, not that I add a whole lot here but I don't suppose I will be a stranger to the 996 board. The 996 is just like all before her a great Porsche.
Pic on page two.
That sounds like an excellent car, so congrats. Please do come back and share impressions on the new car. I'm sure I am not the only person who happily drives a 996 but sees himself in a 997 in the future.
Will do. One thing i can notice already is that while the extra 30HP may not seem like a big deal on paper it feels pretty significant to me when driving. The other thing i really like are the ceramic brakes. They really bite hard. I also notice a lot more headroom which is important for me since i am fairly tall. Not sure if it is seat position or what, but I just seem to fit better in the car. Other than that it is well built just as my 996 was. The 997 would not be as great a car as it is if not for the greatness of the 996 IMO. It seems like a nice evolution that simply represents improvement in some design to be expected over the years.
The perfect combo would be the fit/finish of the 997 interior with the overall design feel of the 996. The 997 is so boxy going back to the 993 I feel like I'm sitting in front of a desk, not a cockpit.
997S is awesome.
I can see that. I did like most things about my 996 interior. The biggest thing for me is the extra headroom. The other things in the interior i do not notice so much. Overall comfort in the drive position is improved for me in the 997.
I love the fact that they have no brake dust. Awesome. And the fact that you are always benefiting from them whether stopping or turning or accelerating.
Thanks Gant. So far it is everything i hoped it would be. Here is a nice high speed shot of me in the car and my brother in law(who sold me this very car) in his F430.
He indeed has incredible taste in cars, and it very generous allowing me and our other brother in law to drive them anytime we want. He also has an incredible 997 GT3. It is stunning, and I think an argument can be made in some ways it is even more fun than the F430. Granted if I had to choose one it would no doubt be the 430, but the latest GT3 is very special IMO.
By chance do you and your brother in-law live in Woodlands? I was at the Town Center a few weeks ago, and I saw a 997 GT3 and that same color F430 cruising around together. One of my neighbors has a silver 997 GT3, and that thing is HOT!!!
Congrats on your 997S and enjoy!
I agree about the seating....while I love my seating position in the 996, when I sat in the 997, I just felt more comfortable. Seats kind of grabbed me better. I'm 6'2, maybe it's a tall guy thing.
Love your new ride....those brakes look fantastic when rolling. Drive it in good health. Do you feel much different in the twisties????
J
That was us. We live in town in Houston, but take a drive up the hardy toll road to the woodlands. We let the wives shop and whatever. I had the GT3 that day.
