Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'rms' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'rms' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean areas in both pics and your whole motor underneath' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
All it may require is a cleaning every month or two, if it becomes leaking to a point where it marks its spot every day, it may be time to have it repaired.

The deep sump spacer which is installed between the engine and the pan uses the same sealant as well.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys,
i found an oil spot under the oil pan, i would assume the oil pan gasket is finished. What your thought?
also, if its the problem, is it easy to replace? DIY??? i need to make an oil change and could do it at the same time, advice please
second picture, i dont know what are those parts or what they called, any help?
thanks a lot!!!
there is more in there that can leak then the RMS, the IMS can also leak AND the case bolts. I would monitor it and see how it does. My old car from time to time would drop a few drips, then go a month or longer without... I just watched it and kept track. Knowing how much, how often will tell you how soon to fix... not whats wrong
Rear main seal/intermediate shaft seal, one or both.
If it was mine, I'd take it to a car wash and hose it down with the pressure washer, keep an eye on it. Even with a bad leak, you will not lose a significant amount of oil, it's just a bit messy. All it may require is a cleaning every month or two, if it becomes leaking to a point where it marks its spot every day, it may be time to have it repaired. A light seepage that will cause a drop to hang and drip every week or so is not worth fixing to me. I do this stuff everyday for other people and they pay dearly for the fix.
The accumulation of oil seepage/drips you see could be the accumulation of several years. It most likely didn't just start. Clean the areas in both pics and your whole motor underneath for that matter. Only then will you be able to see what is "normal" seepage and what may be an actual compromised gasket or seal. Unless you have certain personality disorders (****) there is no need to address seepage, or even a very minor leak that is not spotting the driveway. The only thing it hurts is the owners pride. Clean it off every few weeks or months and you'll be fine.
ohh yes, the car needs to be drivin more,
i will get my new rubbers and do the little tune up and wash the engine, and i will figure out later....
thanks a lot everyone!!!
upgraded oil pan just has different internal baffles, still uses sealant. The deep sump spacer which is installed between the engine and the pan uses the same sealant as well. So if the pan is leaking, you'll take it off, clean it really good and apply new, correct sealant. If it's the RMS.....and it's not too bad, wait untill the clutch needs replacing.
