Suggestion

There are drain lines that run from the sunroof, front and back, and I expect that you'll find yours have either become clogged over time, and the car is now taking in water because of it backing up in the drain lines, and/or one of the connections in a drain line has popped off, allowing water to leak into the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all and greetings from Ireland! I am a newbie - first Porsche purchased last November - 996 C2, Black 1998 now with 68,000 miles. Car is running well however upon recent cleaning I discovered that the carpet is wet behind the passenger seat. I lifted the carpet and found the floor to be quite wet. Noticed water dripping from the large rubber grommet on vertical face in front of the rear seat. When I removed this a large volume of water poured out into the car! I am hoping that someone may be able to offer advise on this problem and how the water may be collecting under the rear seat. The water appeared clean and didnt have an odour. By the way, it's very wet here in Ireland! Looking forward to replies. Brendan
