Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had my 2000 c2 for just over two weeks now. I'm not known for bargain shopping or a tremendous amount of research either. I'll find something that I like, do a little surfing to make sure I'm not getting flat out screwed, then buy.. 2000 C2 Arena Red, 6 Speed, CD (w/6 disk) Carbon Fiber (st wheel, pk brake, shifter) in 9/10 shape, with the only problem being a couple of small chips in the hood, and very minor cracking in the top of the steering wheel. Interior (other than the steering wheel is pristine. 18,000 Miles. One owner, bought it and traded it back into the same dealership, never tracked (that will change) I'll post some pics tommorow. Paid $39,000.00 It seemed like the price was decent. I couldn't find another one with a color that I liked as much, or near the miles. Thoughts???

POST 3Original post

Seems high 3 years ago I bought a C4 cab for 44k with a CPO warranty. I also dont like very low mileage cars....Thats 18,000 miles in 8 years. Thats an average of 187 miles a month....for me thats not enough to keep the parts in good working order...I would check VERY carefully all belts and hoses as the rubber parts seem to get brittle and crack when not used alot. Also 3.4L engines had intermix issues that usually didnt show up until 50k+ miles...but enjoy.

POST 4Original post

I think you got a pretty good deal considering the low miles. In any case, why bother now? Enjoy the car! Have fun with it ... and post pics!

POST 5Original post

Utah, your car sounds like a great deal. I would be thrilled to get one with only 18,000 miles. Arena red is one of my favorite colors. I bet it is gorgeous with that color and the carbor fiber interior. Congratulation on what sounds like a great car for a very reasonable price. I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. Welcome aboard! Pictures please.

POST 6Original post

I don't think that the "post-mortem assessment" will serve you in any way. I agree with discoganya...drive it...enjoy it....it's yours and it will draw oooo's and ahhhh's. I did the same thing you're doing after I bought mine....I started wondering if I got a good deal....reading about RMS problems, intermix etc.etc.etc...and all it did was crank up my anxiety factor until I took the advice of the guys on this forum....drive it like it's stolen...keep a little money aside in case something goes wrong and go for the gusto. Don't look back unless it's in the rear view mirror to make sure the Highway Patrol isn't back there.

POST 7Original post

It's a pretty good deal altho I got a 2002 w/18k miles for $42000 but no CPO (had to buy extended) so if you got CPO then its a good deal..

POST 9Original post

Nah, you got raped! Just kidding! Sounds like a decent price!

POST 10Original post

If you paid what you were willing to pay for what you wanted, then you got a good deal. You will always get the, coulda, woulda, shoulda. And you will always see your car for less and you will see it for more. Never question yourself if you are happy with it, and you will never regret it.

POST 11Original post

I agree with Chuck Jones and Michael Under... don't look back... no regrets... just enjoy.

POST 12Original post

The "Did I get a good deal" thread is never a good one to start after the purchase has been made. Valuations are always a hot topic here, and based on recent threads, I would have thought the car should have sold in the 35k range. BUT... screw it. What's a few thousand bucks among friends???

POST 13Original post

Since you asked...let's see...wheels, suspension, clear bra, etc...

POST 14Original post

I agree, why does it matter -- after the fact? If you were comfortable paying what you paid for it at the time of the sale, then that's all there is to it. As with any luxury item, buy what you like at a price you can live with, and enjoy the heck out of it!

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I agree it won't serve me. And I don't have one ounce of buyers remorse, just wanted to get opinions on whether it was a reasonable price considering... It was NOT CPO.. but I am looking at buying an extended warranty. Thanks for the feedback guys/gals.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh and by the way. I LOVE the car, it's a great addition. After having the Vette for a couple of years, I got used to the "kick in the pants" power, but missed the smooth pcar experience. Glad to be back in the family... (although I did keep the vette)

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know, I know... working on it. We are expecting 8 -10 inches of snow today in Utah, so you will have to wait till it melts. Then I'll get you some car ****...

POST 20Original post

i'm glad to hear that, at the very least, car **** is permitted in Utah.

POST 21Original post

LOL! Snow is an excuse, not a reason. PICSSSSSSSSsssssssssss!

POST 22Original post

Snow melt in Utah? Damn, I could be dead before I get to see THOSE pics!

POST 23Original post
