All, I'm a 964 owner and the poor thing spends far too much time sitting in my garage. I'm thinking of selling my 1990 964 and an 2006 VW GTI in for a single daily driver 996. I live just outside of NYC and was curious to know if any of you run your 996's year round. If so I have a couple of follow on questions; 1) C2 vs C4S ? 2) How are they in the snow and do any of your run on snow tires ? 3) Is there any baby chair securing locations in the back ? I have a 1 year old and another on the way in Sept. 4) What sort of gas mileage do you guys typically get ? Thanks in advance, Andy

I live in NJ....and I bought this car for year around use. 1) Mine is a C4 and I love it in bad weather. 2) I am running snows but contrary to the norm...I believe I can run all-seasons and I'll give it a shot (when I get around to it). 3) Yup...I have pics: http://www.amirtech.com/porsche911.htm My son just turned 2..and I think it is tough to have someone sit in the seat in front of him now. 4) 17-18mph. Haven't checked lately though. thanks, Amir

For 70% freeway & 30% street, I get an average of 21 mpg: Spirited driving (3-5K RPM), but no drag racing, no burning rubber.
