Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It would probably be easier to use the limited slip from the 2003 40th year anniversary model.
Leading evidence: 'Use limited slip' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use limited slip' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a question about Limited-slip differentials I am wondering if someone can answer for me.
Could the OEM LSD from a 04-05 GT3 be used in a 996 transmission? I know the transmissions are different, but the Quaiffe differential is the same part for both applications. I have an opportunity to pick up a differential out of a low mileage GT3. The owner upgraded to an RSR differential.
Thx
My understanding is it is the same. Before you buy a Quaiffe make sure you understand the pro's and the cons. They are a gear diff not a plate diff. If you autox or track the car and pick up the inside tire, even with the Quaiffe, it will spin and you will not go anywhere. This is the pro to plate diff, the con is that they wear and require maintenance.
Actually I am not looking at a Quaiffe, nor do I know someone selling one out of a 99 w/LSD or an 04' Jahre edition. I do know someone with an original GT3 diff with low miles. I have the opportunity to pick up the original diff from the GT3 very reasonably. The owner upgraded the diff to an RSR diff instead. The question is if the original GT3 (clutch type diff) will work in a 996 Carrera transmission? If so, I will probably do the upgrade. Before you ask, no my car does not have traction control or PSM so there no computer related problems with doing this as an upgrade.
Thx again
How's that working for you??
Seriously, I have not seen this question come up here and I think the lack of responses is telling. However, I think it's a great question (I'm curious myself now that you have asked the question). I'd try over at Renntech......someone there might know. Good luck!!
