So am I correct in thinking I could order the 2001+ sideskirt with hardware and it would fit on my 2000 996 to replace my bad sideskirt?

I need to replace the passenger side sideskirt. This is the factory "Aerokit I" style skirt as pictured here for sale at suncoast: Picture of Sideskirt Suncoast sells the set with installation hardware for 749.00. I only need the passenger side!!! Is there a porsche part number I can use to just order the passenger side (with installation hardware)? Thanks, Brian

According to this link at PCA, it says that Aerokit I and Aerokit II share the SAME sideskirts? And it gives a part number for 2001+ cars where you can get the sideskirt with hardware. So am I correct in thinking I could order the 2001+ sideskirt with hardware and it would fit on my 2000 996 to replace my bad sideskirt? Thats what that link makes it sound like. I don't think the Aero I (picture below) and Aero II share the same skirts. The Aero I is curved more on the ends where the Aero II has straighter edges.

MK1 and MK2 skirts are definitely not the same. The MK2 skirt may fit on a pre-'02 996, but it won't match if your driver-side skirt is an MK1.
