I had a black 540i and I didn't change the rear amber lights to clear, eventhough it was the "cool" thing to do.

I have no aptitude for anything but driving the porsche (and of course cleaning), but now I'm a modder too!

I just made the change a few weeks ago (also bought them from Suncoast) and the change was amazing.

IMHO though, the silver badge was just as big as the changing of the ambers.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just bought a 2001 C2 Cab, Seal Gray with Gray top. Do you think the clear side markers look better than the orange? Also, what about silver "Carrera" emblem vs. Black?
I did it and I think they look fantastic. They are only going to cost you $30 and take 2 minutes to install. If you don't like them swap them back and sell them on ebay......someone would probably give you $60 for them

I just made the change a few weeks ago (also bought them from Suncoast) and the change was amazing. I gives the car a totally different - and better - look. I wish that I had done this much earlier. I will never go back.
In addition, the lens only take a few minutes to change.

I have the exact same color combo (seal gray with gray top), and the clears make a huge difference. Cleans the front end up, and I'm told it adds 10 horsepower.
OK, I gotta jump in here, since I even have this in my sig.
I think the grey/silver guys have a point, the amber doesn't quite work for them.
I like them on black a lot. Color is your friend! Come on... black, red, amber... it doesn't get any more German than that.
I guess you guys will all know if you see me, since I may be the last known colored corner lighter, at least in Rennlistland, it seems!
Although I did change mine to clears, You are correct there, in your case. I had a black 540i and I didn't change the rear amber lights to clear, eventhough it was the "cool" thing to do. I thought about it a looong time, but decided to keep the OEM. Amber just looks good on black!
Besides, if it was the other way around...OEM clear markers in the US, and ambers in Europe. I bet all of us will be scrambling to change to ambers!
Smoked ones w/seal grey is a perfect match.
I had smoked side and tail lights when I bought the car. Compare to clear ones on seal grey, I personally think smoked is a good match.
I did mine a few weeks ago also. I also did the silver badge and i am thinking about the silver logo. The only thing that I want with color is the red of the taillights and red calipers. The smoked third brake light is desirous also. IMHO though, the silver badge was just as big as the changing of the ambers.
Yes! Those yellow side markets stick out like a sore thumb. When I bought my Seal grey coupe, I only went 3 days before I swapped them out. The Euro 996 corner lights aren't clear, they are lightly smoked so they blend really well in.
I just got mine from Suncoast. They look great and I installed them in under 5 minutes. I never realized how bad the old ones looked until I put these in!!!!
Also, they seem to match the rear taillights better now since those lenses have a smoked appearance.
From my point of view its the easiest cheapest way to say you modded your Porsche. I have no aptitude for anything but driving the porsche (and of course cleaning), but now I'm a modder too!
Clear markers make me feel more euro.
I put more gel in my hair, put on my Lotto sweatsuit and Adidas running shows, grab the gold watch and hit the road...
