I wonder if they auction their test cars off after they are finished?

Suggestion

I test drove a C6 Z06 when I still had my C5 Z06 and the C6 was significantly faster (my C5 Z06 was much faster than my C4S, but I didn't buy the C4S for its 0-60 time).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3Original post

0 - 60 in 4.3 for the Z06??? Did they have an anchor tied to the car. Keep in mind that a Z can go to 60 without shifting into 2nd. Someone at CR doesn't know how to launch powerful cars.

POST 4Original post

CR buys all the cars that they test. They also don't accept advertizing in the magazine. This keeps them free of any conflicts of interest. I'm glad they are finally testing expensive cars.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

These are 2 BIG reasons why I subscribe. I do, however, agree that they MUST not know how to drive a Z06.

POST 7Original post

how fast are usual Z06 0-60 times from other mags/factory?

POST 8Original post

I wonder if they auction their test cars off after they are finished?

POST 9Original post

how fast are usual Z06 0-60 times from other mags/factory? I believe the factory time is around 3.4, Car & Driver - 3.4, and Road & Track - 3.9. So Consumer Reports is almost a sec slower than the factory and C&D.

POST 11Original post

DRIVING WITH KIDS...exactly why I chose a 911. The fact that this car has rear seats is a HUGE plus for new dads. ;-)

POST 12Original post

Yup...the kid factor was a major decision maker for me. thanks, Amir

POST 13Original post

I agree regarding the Z06. I test drove a C6 Z06 when I still had my C5 Z06 and the C6 was significantly faster (my C5 Z06 was much faster than my C4S, but I didn't buy the C4S for its 0-60 time).

POST 14Original post

Same here... pretty cool when a kid causes an upgrade in a car, rather than a downgrade.

POST 15Original post

And by the way, golf clubs might not fit in the trunk, but they fit nicely into the front passenger seat. I moved the seat all the way back, padded the front of the seat with a towel and in my clubs went. Pure sweetness!
