Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking at a couple 1999 996 coupe's as a second (read: fun) car. How much should I pay? Thanks! Tom

POST 2Original post

how long is a piece of string? all you can do is research comparable cars (age/condition/mileage/options/location/dealer/private/cpo/colour.........) it's a pretty vague question...........

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah I see your poitn. Color: any shade of silver Options: pretty much stone cold base As for mileage, what is reasonable for a 1999 911? Thanks! Tom

POST 5Original post

I never heard anybody else use this quote besides my Dad (& myself) & he has been gone for over 20 yrs.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$35k it is, thanks. I have a Boxster S (987S) and this will be my second car (family's fourth: 325iT, Tacoma, and my BoxS). I'm hoping it will be a hoot to drive and thus keep me from wearing out the Boxster on my daily commute. Not 100% sure I should do it, though.

POST 7Original post

I bet you could find a 99 cheaper than that - I sold my 99 recently and it was C4 and cabrio with pretty low mileage and only got $33K from a lister.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmm. Ok I have one from a local reputable high-end used car dealer. He's asking $34,5. I'll try to talk him down to $29-something, but that's a stretch. Thanks for all your help.

POST 10Original post

Just picked up a 99 C2 w/59k for 29k. Fantastic car.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool. Edmonds pegs a used 996 base C2 at $30k. By my calculations, 996's seem to be depreciating on average $4.5k per year. As I'm sure most of you know, 993's are priced higher on the used market than 996's.
