Is it my imagination or does a C4 have a wider rear than a C2? I couldn't find any info to back up the illusion. tom

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Outcome without a verified action link
For the 996, the "S" logo meant sports suspension and bigger brakes were standard, along with other upgrades, while still having the same HP as the base.

On 997 it does, on 996, it does not.
Nope, same same. The C4S is wider than either.
I thought S=wide body. C2S wider than C2 C4S wider than C4 but C2 = C4 in width
Yeah C4S and TTs are wide bodies
There was no C2S in the 996 line. The logo "S" has different meanings in each line. For the 996, the "S" logo meant sports suspension and bigger brakes were standard, along with other upgrades, while still having the same HP as the base. There was only one "S", the C4S, in the 996 line. "S" had nothing to do with wide bodies/wider track in the 996 line. C2, C4 were narrow, while C4S and Turbo ( note absence of "S") were wide body.
Isn't there a 996 Turbo S?
Yes, my mistake. The 996 turbo S came out close to the time the 997 NA cars were going to come out, so I kinda forgot about it. I think the turbo S just had the X51 kit as standard. The butt of the 996 turbo S is the same size as the non-S, though, so the premise hat the "S" logo in the 996 line has nothing to do with wide body holds. Dang!!! I kinda liked the statement "There was only one S, the C4S, in the 996 line". .
That works for me anyway.
