I ran Performance Friction 97's on my 911 for both street and DE...They were very good on the street compared to most track pads...a hair noisy at times, but nothing like Pagid Orange noise.

Suggestion
I can see changing pads if you have racing slicks and have also changed the tire widths and suspension to racing specs, thereby overwhelmoing the stock set-up.
Leading evidence: 'Run performance friction 97's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace pads if you have racing slicks and have also' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Palting, the performance of the stock pads for track use may have a lot to do with the track.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Who's found the best pad for the street/track? Pagid Blues come to mind, as oranges are too noisy, or at least that's been my experience, what's been yours?
Thanks for any input.

OK, I guess I'll ask this question.
What's wrong with the stock pads? I track fairly regularly, threshold brake at almost every corner, and can't find anything wrong with them. Even while on R-compounds with their much higher stick, I can still threshold brake or even trigger ABS on flat even dry ground, and not have any fade on repeated applications. On the street, they are quiet without any squeel at all.
I can see changing pads if you have racing slicks and have also changed the tire widths and suspension to racing specs, thereby overwhelmoing the stock set-up. But, on a fairly stock car, what's wrong with the stock pads?
I ran Performance Friction 97's on my 911 for both street and DE...They were very good on the street compared to most track pads...a hair noisy at times, but nothing like Pagid Orange noise. They also do not need to be re-bedded after driving them on the street and are fairly low in the dust department. On the track they are terrific and I am still using them or the 01 compunds on the cup car. FWIW.
Palting, the performance of the stock pads for track use may have a lot to do with the track. I have found the stock pads wear way too fast and can't take the heat (I have chunked stock pads in the past) at a very high speed track like Road America for example.
I personally love the Pagid Orange pads as a track/street pad. I have not had noise problems with them in my car and they can stand up to the heat pretty well.
Try Pagid RS 29 - good on the street and very powerful on track. They are the pads Porsche uses onthe GT3 RSR at LeMans. The pads and the rotors go the entire distance with no changes. That says a lot. Rotor friendly and mine do not squeal.
I am not preferential to Porsche Sport Pads. They were initially recommended to my by several sources including RUF. Check out my write up on them in the mods section:

Currently using Pagid "Sport" 4-2-1 compound, blue color but not Pagid "Blues" compound 4-2. Been on the GT3 2 years, best compromise pad I could find. Might even be the same as OE sport pads, not sure.
Good choice. Pagid Orange has been rotor friendly, noisy on the street unless you do a hard stop once in a while, and they do quite well at the track. I run in the middle of the fast group.
So a hard stop once in awhile makes the oranges quieter on the street?
I find that the only time they dont make noise is a hard stop, but then make it just as bad the next time I stop slowly. Should I be doing more hard stops to quiet them down?
The way to quiet agressive or track pads is to put heat in them. Hard stops put heat in the pads. Once the pads get hot they will be quiet, until the pads cools again. Then the noise will return. Cruising at highway speeds they won't stay hot for long.
