Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Year and Model
Nav or no Nav
Bose or no Bose
We should have the first units in a couple of weeks, pricing in just a few days.
Thanks.

Actually, our order is ready to ship to us right now. No ghosts, promise.
Will take a few days to finalize the group buy numbers (allow one week), then get them to us (allow a week or less), then ship them out (another week or less).
But yes, the unit is officially released to distributors (we are).
We should have some sort of ribbon cutting party or the such to celebrate that Denison acutally has delivered. Their math sux but at least the got the product to market.
Yes. MOST bus hookup for iPod and full control of iPod from Becker head unit or iPod.
Riad....you crazy, bro.
Anyone not yet on the list please email me at

with your year, model, and if you have Bose, Nav and/or cd changer.
Thanks.
MOST infotainment devices are MY03+ cars.....MOST is here thru 2012 on the latest roadmap.
MY02 was the last year of the analog/copper wire based systems.
Thanks ltc. Yes, MOST applies to '03 to present.
Our first shipment will be nav-only, then non-nav in about 30 days. We are compiling a large group buy right now, and will place the order in just a few days for shipment to our warehouse.
What would be cool would be if the unit allowed you to play video on the PCMII screen from an IPOD video. But somehow I don't think that would be a feature.
Most video capabilities are illegal on front screens in view of the driver, unless parked.
But I would speculate there is a way to provide streaming data from the iPod to the screen through a device like this, perhaps with a software upgrade.
More details coming regularly....
List price is $599 (group buy price will be less!)
Cradle will accept Nano
Cable will accept most iPod models
The dension.com site showing the other unit is Euro, NOT a US model
CD Changer will be disabled
Video not yet able to display on screen for video iPods, but apparently upgradable
First units are for NAV only cars. PCM without NAV is a non-nav car for this purpose.
Non Nav cars will have similar product release in about 30 days
Pro Install recommended, fiber optic stuff may be tricky
Beta Testing for units will be THIS week (8/1/06)
We anticipate in house inventory within two weeks of beta test.
Order site will go live on 8/1 for deposits for group buy
Thanks.
MOST has sufficient bandwidth capability to carry MPEG video....by design. MOST2 (yes, as if the first MOST implementation wasn't bad enough) will double the bandwidth.
However, you are likely to run into DTLA and DTCP requirements.
Translation: LAWYERS.
You can NOT play a DVD over MOST today, as you are required to provide encryption (via DTCP) in order to satisfy the lawyers at the DTLA.
This stems from the declaration that MOST is an open digital network, not a closed network.....hence, much like home products, you are prevented from transferring copyrighted digital content over a nework physical layer (MOST in this case) without providing encryption.
You can transfer copyrighted content in ANALOG form, just not digital form.
Apart from seeing 3 engineers commit suicide over dealing with DTLA lawyers,

this implentation is currently scheduled for release in a year or two.
Will the CD changer be completely disabled, or is it possible to switch back and forth?
Do you anticipate a model or upgrade that will have the CD changer enabled?
I don't have NAV, so did not sign-up for the GB and I'm curious if the product released. Any comments from people that purchased? Where does the non nav version stand?
