Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We've worked/seen all sorts of P-cars but rarely any 996 Targas. I'm not sure why they weren't really a big "hit" and I've always liked them since the days of the 993 (the ones prior to that were not my cup of tea). We never really see any Targas for some reason- I guess cabs are just way more popular but I'm really digging them. The chasis doesn't seem quite as flex-happy as a cab. And with a few mods (we installed PSS9s, H&R sways, the Brembo F50 Brake kit, an SSK, GIAC flash, EVO Intake, headers and exhaust) the car is quite nifty. It corners really well and doesn't feel quite as heavy as a cab either. I know for the 997 Porsche is going to continue with the Targa only sadly add more weight with the AWD system and C4 body... This "sleeper" is going to be tracked and at the same time is a lot of fun on the street.

POST 2Original post

sweet...I like the Targa's...just afraid it was going to be to hot because of all the window here in SOCAL.....have a panoramic roof in my X5 and if I don't close the inside cover...it is just burning hot!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Me too. Me too and I know what you mean about the sun issue... It was about 95 the last day I test drove it and even with the screen up it still got toasty!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sharp.. with PSS9s and H&Rs you're still ok with stock. So it depends on what application and suspension set up.. For those that don't mind the noise of metal on metal in terms of ball joints etc.. we sometimes use the ERP or TRG ones.

POST 6Original post

I bought an an 02 Targa in January. I love the big open roof. It does get hot when parked in sun.
