Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I am preparing to change the IMS bearing, I will take the engine out to do this job and to address many while at it items. So IMS bearing, Oil/air separator, and timing chain guides Can someone please list a list of part number of the parts I need to change out the timing chain pads? Thanks

POST 2Original post

how about calling sunset and just asking them while placing the order? do you have PET? Manuals?

POST 3Original post

To change the pads on the advance mechanisms you will have to remove the cam covers and pull off the cams. Requires two or three special tools. This is not necessary to replace the IMS bearing. You might want to consider replacing the chain tensioners if you are doing the bearing upgrade. This is covered on the LN website and is recommended.

POST 4Original post

if pulling the motor on a 99' might as well change the pads IMO... its a lot of work, but you have the motor out so man..... go for it
