Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This fell out of my front shock when I lifted the car to replace the fuel door manual release. I assumed it was the bump stop, but when I look up that part number the bump stop is yellow whereas this is red.

POST 2Original post

Yes from that angle and deterioration level it looks like what used to be a bump stop It doesnt look like the whole piece, just part

POST 5Original post

I replaced the bump stops when I installed the ROW M030 suspension. My car has been in Southern California since new and at only 38,000 miles, I was surprised at how worn the front bump stops were. The rears were in much better shape which is somewhat counterintuitive.

POST 6Original post

Is it worth replacing these? I bought my car a year ago and on the PPI it was noted that the bump stops were shot, but the suspension itself was otherwise in great shape. Is it worth doing or just wait until some other item needs attention?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Depends. Do you find you ever come close to bottoming out the suspension? If so, then yes super worth it, but if not (which will be the case for most people), I probably wouldn't bother if I were going to have to pay someone for the labor.

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 16315853

Not that I have ever noticed, but I probably just jinxed myself. The labor would be all me.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 16315875

If the labor is all you, I would say definitely do it the next time you have a day to kill. When you need a bump stop, you really need a bump stop.

POST 10Original post

The option of not having them and bottoming metal on metal isn't very appealing to me.
