Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This morning I saw 993 on the road (and I always thought it was the best body style) and I felt, to my surprise, it looked dated.

I think that the 997 (S) is going to be a fantastic car, and with a 2 year run, could be one of those really special cars that people will hanker after (time will tell).
Leading evidence: 'best body style) and i felt' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best body style) and i felt' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run could be one of those really special cars' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Probably a few months out, then it might only be a C2 Cab.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The only modern Porsche I've never owned is the 993. I never bought it because I thought it was too soft (handling shifting and braking) compared to my RS America.
Yesterday I sold my X51, thinking I was going to buy a C4S Cab and was debating an 04 versus waiting for an 05. Playing around on the internet I looked up the 997 (not having really thought about it) and was really impressed with the changes. Reading between the lines I think Porsche has improved in a very subtle, but progressive, way the 996.
This morning I saw 993 on the road (and I always thought it was the best body style) and I felt, to my surprise, it looked dated. I began to wonder about that, and thought I must have been influenced by the views of the 997.
I think that the 997 (S) is going to be a fantastic car, and with a 2 year run, could be one of those really special cars that people will hanker after (time will tell). Now I'm re-thinking the C4S and going for the 997.
It's a given that the best Porsche is always the next one!
My GT3 is on the boat, and should arrive in a few weeks...however, I'm trying to swap it out for an 05.
There are going to be 200 GT3s made in 05, whether this is part of the orginal 750 or a new batch I don't know.
I do know that May/June are big months for the delivery of the GT3. My dealer has 3 all pre-sold.
I'm thinking about a convertible, and have looked at the SL 500, BMW 645i and the C4S. The BMW is out of the running ...it feels way too light for me but it does have that typical BMW handling and I can't reconcile the two sensations in my mind. I suspect they have cheapened the car somehow but that's just a hunch.
Anyway back to Porsches..it's always that way.
I had a 2003 SL500 Sport for a while and it is definitely a very nice car with decent power and handling. With hard top retractable it is definitely a plus, but it sure DOES NOT handle like a 996 and you will have a lot more fun driving a 996 or 997 for that matter....
And remember, the 997 is yet to show order data for a Cab. Probably a few months out, then it might only be a C2 Cab.
That is why I just took delivery of an '04 C4S Cab....has the lines I wanted, the interior I wanted, and I was not going to be a guinea pig on whatever new junk they toss in on the 997. Been there, done that.
If you're waiting for a 997 C4S Cab, it will probably be quite a wait.
Hi LVDell,
G500 is a great SUV with a very outdated looks but very capable and luxurious features. But it drives like a SUV on the road, which translate to very truck like, heavy and not enough power in my opinion. But none the less, it has a unique status quo and identity. I used to own a Range Rover 4.0 before switching over to G500 but I ended going back to Range Rover.
LOL.....speaking of outdated looks, the ML needs a re-design. If it is not done in the next year I am moving to CayenneS or Rover. Thanks for the input!
Dell
the ML looks like a mini-van that got hit with an ugly stick IMHO...
i'd stick with the GT3 you've got on the boat colm, but that's me. it sounds like you change your mind about cars a lot.
