And thats the time consuming part - I used nail polish remover and rags to dissolve/clean the glue off the windows.....

In the interior there are aluminum pedals (I liked these in the test drive), some custom aluminum touches and an aftermarket stereo.

I would worry about using a scraper on curved windows (scratching) and the rear window (damage to defroster).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After a month of lurking on this forum and learning about these cars, I'm about to pull the trigger on my first p-car. It's a 2001 C2 coupe, 6spd, lapis blue/sav beige. Car has psm and xenons (this was a condition of mine).
The previous owner was into customizing it. While I'm more of a stock person, I didn't think his choices were not bad. There is a front grill/spoiler, side skirts, and a gt3 rear spoiler. He claims that they come off and has original pieces. In the interior there are aluminum pedals (I liked these in the test drive), some custom aluminum touches and an aftermarket stereo. The only thing that gets me is tint. Can this be removed cleanly?
Any opinions? (I think I have already decided at this point, but I thought I'd throw out a couple of pics).
P.S. So excited I haven't slept well in three nights. Notice time of post!
I like the car and the modifications. Only drawback is there is less for you to do now. I had tint removed and replaced in my house. They removed the old tint primarily with a razor-edged scraper. There may other technologies out there. I would worry about using a scraper on curved windows (scratching) and the rear window (damage to defroster).

I was going to send you a PM but you don't have the feature activated. The spoiler, side skirt and front bumper cover should all be reversible. Depending on the tint it should be reversible also (I just had this done on another car). If you decide to remove any portion of the side skirts, front bumper cover or the rear spoiler I would interested in purchasing them. Feel free to send me a PM.
I'm in agreement with OH996 and GBG. The spoiler is not my thing. I don't think you should pay a premium for the mods, however.
The important thing is to drive several other cars and make your own determination of the care and quality of this one. Even though Lapis is a big favorite of mine, I passed on one because it was not in the condition of the A. Silver car I bought.
Sweet looking ride if the rest of the criteria are met.
The tint isn't hard to remove - I've taken it off of cars before and its just a time consuming job.
The actual tint should just peel off (most should come off all together as 1 piece like on the windows) - but what you are left with is a layer of glue on the window. And thats the time consuming part - I used nail polish remover and rags to dissolve/clean the glue off the windows.....
hope this helps,
Will
Thank you all for the informative responses. I feel like I am entering good company.
Waiting for 5pm has a different meaning today as I will be taking the plates off my Audi (which I may or may not keep - perhaps a different discussion) getting a ride from my girlfriend and driving back the 90 miles home.
Hair dryer on the tint can make it easier to remove too. Nail polish remover (acetone) or a product such as goof off will do the trick with the glue. Or 3m adhesive remover.
The spoilers are not my style, but as long as you're not paying extra for them you will be able to ebay them and make some money.
C. <-- about to have my 01 C2 tinted.
