Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Amigo's - I was thinking about obtaining Sure Grip Z Snow Chains. A friend of mine told me in Germany, they use them on many Porsches and BMW with no problems, has anyone had any experince with snow chains ?

POST 2Original post

I think they are illegal around the states, not sure about it though. I use dunlop wintersport M2's and they are great. Braking and cornering is better than any other car even in the snow. You have to be a little gentle with the gas but these cars are great with snow tires only. Bobby

POST 3Original post

I second that...take my C4 skiing all the time in VT...4"+ of snow...no problem at all with Dunlop Winter Sport M2's. You could get chains, but I'd only use them for short distances when the conditions are extreme (imagine what would happen if one of the chains came loose, bye bye fender paint...)

POST 5Original post

Man, you guys that drive your Porsches in the snow - that is something else. I mean, why?? I can't even get up my driveway, and forget about any boost or power (fun). And chains now? C'mon for Christ's sake.

POST 6Original post

C4's with snow tires are simply amazing. Here in the SUV capital of the world, Detroit, Mi, people are always giving me a pitiful look. That is until I blow their doors off. When I see them at the next light they have this look of respect and admiration on their face. You C2 guys don't know what you're missing.

POST 7Original post

Second that. My C4S is incredible in the snow (with snow tires!). I didn't pay all this money to let the car sit around all winter And why forget about power...the roads are dry 95% of the time. For the snowy days, the manual transmission makes it very easy to control the car. And even on snow tires, a P-Car outhandles anything on the road
