Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has the H&R Coilover Kit installed on their vehicle. This is my first P-car, so I don't know too much about aftermarket accessories and performance products. I am putting some 19" HRE 540R on my 996 C4S, and looking for a suspension kit to fill in the gap without sacrificing too much performance or driveability. H&R Coilovers cost about 2000+500 install, whereas Gemballas kit costs 2750+600 install. What are your recommendations? BTW, does anyone know of any good Porsche tuners in the Orange County or LA area? Thanks, Alan

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Alan, ArthurK is trying to organize a group buy for the Bilstein PSS9 kit. I am not familiar with the Gemballa kit but comparing the H&R's to the PSS9: - both are height adjustable - damping is adjustable in the PSS9 I am hoping the group buy gets the PSS9 price to below $2K shipped. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hreadid=110055
I'm very happy with mine, in fact I've done both 19's and the 2nd generation H and R's with the "new" tenderspring, and they ride perfect, not harsh, but very smooth and controlled. The pss9's were outta my price range at the time (late 2003) but I can't find fault in the new suspension pics of the set up are here, with a few before and after pics as well: www.hobbystage.net/porsche/sennasixty8
what's the deal with everytime i follow a link to a "hobbystage.net" page it just has big Hobby Stage logos, etc.? no pics.
not sure why my link didnt work for ya, but here goes.....
I have the exact same issue on my PC. It didn't use to be this way. I even emailed the listed contact at hobbystage but they never replied. I don't have any unusual issue with any other web sites. Any advice to correct this is welcome. I deleted all of the IE temp files and cookies once before trying to solve this issue, but it didn't work. Dwayne
I would go with H&R or the Bilsteins. Also Ruf makes a coilover kit based off the Bilstein but with different valving.
I've had that issue with Hobbystage for sometime. I finally gave up and decided to pass on their posting service as a result. Their site isn't dependable.
