Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

FWIW, I run 295's on my GT3 - Michelin Pilot Sport 2 N2 - and I set them up to run 40 pounds HOT on each tire.
Leading evidence: 'Run 295's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend " pressures vary by model (c4, tt, etc.)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I run about 37 on my rears on my Ruf and 34 in the front.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What tire pressure do you typically run? I've been running 40psi in mine and just noticed yesterday how worn the centers are now. They are very concave.
So I reduced the air pressure down to 37psi and now the car squirms a bit in the rear. Is this sidewall flex you think?
I'm running S-03's BTW.
FWIW, I run 295's on my GT3 - Michelin Pilot Sport 2 N2 - and I set them up to run 40 pounds HOT on each tire. For the track this means a starting pressure of around 34 pounds cold. Street driving does not develop as much heat so I think your 38 should be in the ball park. If you drive really hard check the hot pressure and bleed down to 40 if needed.
Of course there is always the opposite problem which is that the tires don't get hot enough to build pressure. Excess wear in the middle can be caused by too high a pressure or, too low! To solve the riddle you need a pyrometer - take readings across the tire, left, center and right. ON the back of a 911 the inside should be about ten degrees hotter than the middle and outside. If the middle is hotter than the edges by any significant degree play with pressures (upo or down) and test again.
Regards,
Bob -
What do you recommend for street pressure for the front of a C2 (cold and hot)?
Second question: You posted a link last summer to a pdf which you said your club used for orientation before a track day. Can you repost the link?
Thanks
Tim
Are these just your rears? It seems that the wear just be around the edges due to cronering and etc. unless its only your rear and you accellerate quickly alot. If spinning wheels quickly during accelleration, would the wheel elongate and cause center wear. Maybe a stupid question, but I too am curious about tire pressure issues.
I run about 37 on my rears on my Ruf and 34 in the front. The handling feels great hear and was afraid that higher pressures would make it feel floaty or cause more understeer.
One last question that may be dumb. Does lower tire pressures not result in slower acclleration. If doing 1/4 and not conering, would it be best to run a higher pressure.
Too low would wear the outisde edges not the inside/center section. To high a pressure wears the center down quicker.
It might be the S-03's I have. A buddy has them and said his wears like this too....strange.
I run my SO3's 36psi cold, all tires. That usually gets me to 40psi highway driving. I drove a lot of autocross last year, enough to go through a set of tires in a few months, and the tires wear was almost perfectly even. Perhaps 1/32" more in the middle on the rear. Go figure.
Nick,
FWIW, I think the "recommended" pressures vary by model (C4, TT, etc.). I just put new S03's on my car. The tire shop couldn't find a matching spec, so I asked the dealer. They said 36 front, 44 rear. I have 18" wheels, H&R springs, 285s on the rear. This is just for street driving though, not track.
I just bought the car, and it had Conti 1's on the back that were bald on the INSIDE, which the dealer said was normal. Anyone know wassup with that? Seems like everyone else on this thread has wear in middle or outside?
