Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been having problems with the alarm not setting correctly on my 99 C2. Get the double beep. Having checked and discounted all the obvious things it occured to me that a double push of the remote lock sets the alarm with the IR motion sensors disabled. The alarm sets just the way you would expect when I do that so I'm assuming that one or both sensors are bad. Expensive I wonder? I'll be pulling them out at the weekend to check them out. Anyone have any idea's how to troubleshoot those things other than plugging in good ones to see if it fixes the problem. Thanks Colin

POST 2Original post

I guess you checked that the console arm rest is properly closed? If you double push the key you should get a beep to signify the IR sensors are diabled.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup, checked all the switches, radio contact etc. Did it by measuring at the alarm module itself. As far as I could tell, the only things left unchecked were the IR sensors and the alarm module itself. I do get the single, rather than double, beep with a double push of the remote which is what it should normally do I think so, that's why I figured that one of the IR modules could be the problem. Colin

POST 4Original post

I am wondering if it is as simple as a relay problem. Maybe Loren or Jeff might know. At least they will probably have the wiring diag.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wished I had the Porsche wiring diagrams (and rest of the shop manuals) myself. I got the alarm wiring from Mitchel. Not the best but just about adequate to figure which switch/ contact was on which pin of the alarm module connector. Colin
