Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was filling my car up with oil as usual and noticed I'm missing my rear wing brake light. I took it to the dealer and they made an appointment to replace it under warranty. They have to take the wing off cause the cable for the light has fallen back into the wing so it was not a simple job of just fitting a new one. But now i'm trying to figure out if somebody stole it or it fell off. I'm thinking if it fell off the light should still be hanging from the wing as those clips are generaly a pain to remove. sorry my car is dirty...weather sucks right now

POST 2Original post

Not sure. Sounds a little strange that that would just fall of? Never know. At least it's covered under warrenty.

POST 3Original post

When I was looking for my car, the dealer had a 996 w/wing on the floor. I thought the wing looked nice so I ordered one. I did notice that the one on the floor had a screw loose on the right side and the light fixture was hanging down on that side. This was a showroom model that had yet to be driven!!!!. I pointed it out to the staff. The sales guy screwed it back in and all appeared normal. I, however, wondered the same thing as you seem to!!!! Was it not tightened correctly at the factory? Was it a design flaw in the screw anchor point, Or... was someone trying to get a light from a car on the showroom floor?? I check mine when I wash it, and have yet to see any problems!
