Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just recently ordered a set of GT3 SwayBars. Has anyone of you ever installed the bars? Do the front drop links have to be modified? Or could you still use the same ones on your 996. If you guys have photos of the bar installed , please forward.

POST 2Original post

I have a 1999 C2 that I have changed to TT brakes with GT3 wheel carriers. I just got a GT3 front sway bar and my question for all GT3 owners is this--- on my stock 996 the sway bar was shaped to bend under the suspension arms and up where it met the drop link and attached to the strut. The GT3 sway bar has very little bend. So it either has to go under the arm and use a VERY long drop link or it mounts above the arm and uses a very short link. Which is it. Any pictures of the front suspension would be very helpful. I know that many after market dealers sell custom links for the 996 C2 to GT3 conversion, however, I plan to machine my links myself. Thanks. Alex

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I justed talked to an experienced Porsche Mechanic and he told me that if it is better to go with a shorter droplink and install the bar same way as stock. Thanks.

POST 5Original post

I just finished putting in the GT3 bar. Very simple. Shorter than stock adjustable links are the way to go. If anyone wants more info or pictures, email [email removed] (however, monday I fly to Jamaica for a week!). Alex

POST 6Original post

TRG has adjustable drop links for C2's and C4/Turbos. They work great for me in my 01 C4
