Basically its a belt buckle under the passenger seat that's made for use with the Porsche child seat.

Hi All, Does 02 996C4s have LATCH for child seat in rear? I saw 2 pre-cut on the carpet of real dashboard on both side. I am guessing these are for LATCH. Thanks in advance.

There should be a perforated outline of where you should cut the carpet. The latch attaches under there. I also recommend you have Porsche install the air bag deactivation kit under the front seat. I've been using this for a year and it works very well. Also buy a mat that sits under the child seat, this should protect the leather seats from getting creases in them. Rob

The latch is there you just need to cut the carpet along the perforated lines. What the dealer installs is the passenger side air bag deactivation kit. Basically its a belt buckle under the passenger seat that's made for use with the Porsche child seat. Porsche will install the child seat deactivation kit for free with the purchase of the seat. Rob

I have the Porsche Junior Seat, and I also have the smaller child seat. I used both in the front seat. I started using the baby seat when my daughter was 12 months old. She's 2 now and I still use it. I put the Porsche junior seat in my wife's Lexus. Rob
