Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I just checked Porsche's website.( http://www3.us.porsche.com/english/u...indersitze.htm ) It seems Porsche Junior Seat LATCH can be installed in the rear of a 996. Has there anyone done it? The seat is a little bit expensive $650 . I would like to know the answer before I order it. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Porsche seats are made by Britax. You can probably find a Britax version of the seat for $200 or so. It won't come with the airbag deactivation, but that doesn't matter in the back. I use Britax boosters in the back with no trouble. C.

POST 3Original post

I have my 1st baby on the way... I already bought a generic infant seat. I know I also need to get the airbag deactivation device. Do I also need to buy a "LATCH" for my infant seat? The Tequipment site makes reference to a LATCH...is this a separate piece or are they just referring to the actual whole baby seat? I have a 99 C2 so I don't believe I have any built-in latches. I assume I can just use the regular seat belt buckle latch instead? Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi 996garage, My baby is 9 months old. I took her out with me in my 996 C4s for the first time last night. I just bought a Britex Roundabout. I put her in the back seat. The seat itself can fit in the rear fine without LATCH. The reason I am asking LATCH is I want 100% secure of my baby and it seams that my car has them. I do not recommand to buy an infant seat from Porsche if you plan to use it in the rear. It will not fit, according to Porsche's website. I did tried to put an infant seat in the rear. I had no problem to fit it in. However, You will not be able to sit in the front. Front seat will need to pull all the way to the front. I wait 9 months to take both wife and baby all together in my 996C4s.
