I picture myself telling the SA 'no test drives' and getting THAT LOOK.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 15Original post

Interesting story - the very same thing happened to me in 1993. I had an '90 Eclips GSX AWD turbo in for routine service. I got the phone call to pick up the car, then another call 3 minutes later to tell me that the car had been totalled and the driver (a 20-something mechanic) was being life-flighted off the scene. Needless to say, the car war a ball of tin foil. Police estimated a speed of 100+ MPH from the length of the skid marks. The dealer did get me Blue Book for the car, and a new '93 model at invoice, which was about the best I coudl hope for. The drive had broken both his legs but fully recovered. The lesson I learned was to specify no test drives unless I am along for the ride. Ed

POST 16Original post

I picture myself telling the SA 'no test drives' and getting THAT LOOK. I picture myself carrying a picture of the wadded-up ball of foil to counter that look.

POST 17Original post

Just a twist to the "Worship" animation I whipped up

POST 19Original post

It's a hard way to get to a Porsche, but he ended up going from the M3 to a TT. Quote a jump... -PK

POST 23Original post

I had a new '97 Cadillac STS (I didn't know better then) It was stolen out of the dealer service bay, with the keys in of course. The dealer tried to stick me with every conceivable damage , rental charges for the 'free' service loaner, clean up, and towing, etc. etc., when it was finally recovered. My insurance company took a different point of view and I believe the dealer backed down but it goes to show their mindset
