Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would like to adjust the tension on my emergency brake. I have to pull it up way high and it would be easier to have it re-adjusted to when it was new. When I swapped center consoles I noticed a cable but could not figure it out. Has anyone done this? I am fairly handy and this seems like a very simple thing to do but need some direction. THANKS.

POST 2Original post

If I'm not mistaken there is a nut and rod assembly under the center console, this is where the cable is attached.... can't you simply adjust it there?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

8 clicks. Sometimes 9 is needed so it will not roll. It works, but feels like it could be adjusted and work like new. I saw the nut attached to a cable, but it would not losen easily and I was afraid I might break it. Since the nut and bolt move along with the cable, it is hard to loosen it. Thanks.

POST 5Original post

Something is wrong. Should be 4 clicks. We adjust this all the time when someone swaps the brake lever. Remove the rubber mat and plastic floor in the center storage box. You will see the adjustment nuts. Jeff

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just did it and it is secure in 4-5 clicks. I was afraid that I might break it but after the help from you guys I felt more comfortable. It was really hard to get the nut to move. Thanks for your help. Problem solved!

POST 7Original post
