I traded our Cayenne S after 9 months of ownership, not because it was a bad vehicle, but because it wasn't ever able to replace the mini-van as a family hauler.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I can't tell you how glad I am to be back in a 911. I traded our Cayenne S after 9 months of ownership, not because it was a bad vehicle, but because it wasn't ever able to replace the mini-van as a family hauler. Diving the Jubilee was like putting on my favorite pair of jeans - everything just felt right. Now I just have to get through the break-in period.
Any photo requests?
Nice one Jim
I'm sure you find it pretty nifty....when it's run in it will be even quicker.
What number of 1963 is it. Did you get the sports seats they look cool with the silver backs ...I couldn't my shoulders didn't agree with them.
Donny J
Donny,
Mine is numered 500-something. I bought the one Anniversary Edition my local dealership received - so I took it as is: power seats w/ memory, BOSE, and CD changer (no sport seats). They (Baker Motor Company in Charleston, SC) cut me a very fair deal and I would recommend them to anyone.
I love the mini-wallet/keychain that came with the car. It's also nice to have luggage that fits so perfectly in the boot. I wasn't entirely sure about the perforated leather interior at first, but it's growing on me very quickly. I also love the polished wheels, though I hope I never need to repair them.
Did yours come with Pilot Sports?
Jim L
TestnDoc,
My dealership gave me $57K (originally $71K) for my Cayenne S and I paid sticker for the Jubilee. They gave me a much better deal on my trade-in than any other dealership I spoke to (and I spoke to quite a few).
Jim
Yep mine came with Pilot Sports....I'm just about to get a short shifter and am debating whether to get the PSE - Porsche sports exaust fitted....it's supposed to make driving a little more rewarding. Once the engine loosens up you'll have even more fun.

GET THE PSE! You won't regret it. I had 4 people ask me what exhaust I had yesterday... 1 guy riding a bicycle stopped me to ask because he has a C2 and loved the tone. He said he reads Rennlist and it has great content!!!
Jim, since the 40th aniv edition is the first 996 to have PSM and LSD combined together, if you have tried other 996's, I am very curious of what is your impressions of how the LSD with PSM and the normal electronic ABD of the previous PSM equipped 996's compare if at all?
With the X51 kit the exaust note is louder anyway will PSE still affect the exaust note and will it cause a slight increase in BHp...thats my main interest
Donny J
Congrats, Jim. What a beauty. I hope you enjoy that little extra umphhh of the X51. I agree, PSE is a must. Everyone who hears my car comments on how perfect the exhaust note is...
Question....I picked up my 40th last weekend in STL, and the dealership could not "find" the metallic silver seatback accents. My car also has the comfort seat option. Is it possible that checking the comfort seat box eliminated the trim pieces? I suppose anything is possible...the dealer also "lost" the grey floor mats (but at least offered some black mats until the replacements show up). But I am interested in the seatback piece...any help?
By comfort you mean fully electric ?
No silver seat backs unless you have the sports seat option. I had a bit of a mix up with this, Porsche did not specify to the dealers that the fully electric seats where not silver trimmed my dealer phoned when I was there to verify that the full electric seats would have silver backs and was told they would. Some one at Porsche has been given the wrong info.

Donny J: So far, it's great. It's tucked away for the winter now, as we are expecting 6-8 inches of the white stuff today here in the upper midwest. It has about 500 miles on it; 17 when I drove it off the showroom floor. The car, which has not been above 4k rpm, seems quicker than my 2000 C4 millennium, as it should with 45 additional hp. Nothing I really don't like about the anniversary car...I certainly agree with the assessments which you and others have posted here.
I put on PSE and have found that the difference is subtle. It was louder than my 03 C4S even without PSE. I have not had it over 3500 RPM (500) miles so far. I am also hinking about short shifter. mine is around #273 I think.
