Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have the stock 17's and am thinking of having them polished when I repplace the tires. A generally knowledgable friend says this will be a maintenance and cleaning problem. Any thoughts? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

The Fuchs rims on my 83 911SC had polished lips. Polished rims will be no worse to maintain than a painted rim if you have them clearcoated after you have them polished. If you don't, they will oxidize fairly quickly due to brake dust etc. and you will find yourself going over them by hand every couple of months, which is not a lot of fun unless you take them off the car or have a lift. Been there, done that ... Vic 99 C2 cab

POST 3Original post

I found waxing them helps this puts a clear protective coat on the wheels , just rub them with a cloth .....(takes 5 mins) every few days and they should stay OK. Donny J
