Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know the name and number of the Factory Rep for Northern VA? I think Im running into the RMS problem. I have a MY99 with only 27,000 miles... I worried what HBL or Alexandria will say about replacing it! Thanks Tom

POST 2Original post

You've got mail. However, no matter what you run into with the rep, everything starts with a dealership. And don't expect much. PCNA knows about this problem, and hopefully they will do right by it and correct the problem. But lately they've taken on a new attitude of 'if it's out of warranty, tough luck.' Much different from a few years ago, sadly. Customer loyalty seems to be meaningless to the new head of Customer Commitment, and the new head of PCNA.

POST 3Original post

I forget the guys name but you can get it from any dealer. I hope you have better luck with him than I did. The guy I dealt with last year was a total jerk. He wouldn't even talk to me. He just kept leaving me voice mails with his number which he never answered, so I had to respond via voice mail. He voided my warranty without ever even looking at my car, just based on what HBL told him. They don't really function as a customer rep, more like a dealer defense rep. Karl

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys.... Would I be better off at Alex or HBL???? I have not spoken to any dealer about this yet... I going to go on Monday... One slightly better then they other? Thanks Tom

POST 5Original post

My experience is that there is NO comparison between the two. You are MUCH better off at Heishman. They are friendly towards PCA and do free DE inspections, and I've always found them pretty good to deal with service-wise. (Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll tell you what you want to hear in regards to your particular issue, obviously.) While I've never had my Porsche serviced at HBL, I had some horrible experiences there with Audis and an SL500. I'd stay away from the place. =Carlos=

POST 6Original post

I second the comments about HBL.....HORRIBLE!!! My parents have bought 5 Mercedes over the past 3 1/2 years and live just 3 miles down the road in McLean. They purposely drive to Bethesda, Maryland to buy their cars after the treatment they got when trying to purchase the 1st of 5. Needless to say over these past 3 1/2 years my Dad swings by HBL with his new Benz (latest is SL500) to show them the commmision and profit they missed out on again....and again....and agian......well you get the picture. As this thread would prove......Watch the way you treat customers cuz word of mouth will hurt you down the road!

POST 7Original post

Please don't even think about HBL. My 3 years of Audi ownership there were a nightmare. At one point I wrote letters to Audi and started driving to Rockville for service. Then for a while service got better at HBL and I got an apology and so forth. But 6 months later they were back to their old selves. We're talking problems like an oil service taking 2 days even though I had an appointment and the car coming back with 65 more miles on it!!! Not using synthetic even though I thought of every way possible to remind them except stapling a note to the damn service manager's head. Washing the car every darn time it was in there even though I did everything to remind them of that, too. Treating me like an idiot. And on and on. I met a guy with an S4 one day who took his car in for the 10,000 service on a Friday and it wasn't ready until Monday and it had over 100 more miles on it. It's a shame because I did meet a nice salesperson there who should have gotten my Porsche business, but Arlington's sales and service have been so far beyond HBL. I was thrilled that my car wasn't washed after my RMS issue and I didn't even have to tell them! (I had mentioned this to my salesperson before the car was delivered and he made sure that my SA noted it and, praise God, my SA actually reads/remembers the notes! Woohoo!)

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I contacted PofArlington this morning and spoke to a really nice and well informed service rep... He said that it is 50/50 on the out of warrenty work. And that his service manager needs to help make the call. He also quoted me $1400 for the job. Seem high? I am the second owner of the car.. I bought it with 6k miles... I really hope Porsche does the right thing and fixes the problem.

POST 9Original post

I don't recall anyone on this board, or anywhere else for that matter, that have had good experiences with HBL, myself included...and this is at least over a 4 year period.. how can they stay in business?... BTW PCNA rep got me out of a real bind a year and a half ago, by influencing HBL to adhere to PCA's roadside towing policys..

POST 10Original post

I think the reason they stay in business is the fact that they are located in prime real estate (Tyson's) and there is a large % of people in the area (the like to be seen crowd) that just loves that silver HBL frame on their car!

POST 11Original post

I had an hbl license frame on my car and I fed it to my friend's rott. Anyways, Mike Milloy is the worst rep I've ever met or seen. Never returns your calls, never does what he says he'll do, and frankly i'm suprised he actually has a job there. HBL SUCKS!!! The used car department that they just built has a blue 2002 gt2 which is nice though

POST 12Original post

I suspect that Mike Milloy is on some kind of drugs. Every time I see him, his eyes are really blood shot and he is sniffing. He doesnt seem to add any value to the service process and I only got good service when I tipped the techinician $20.

POST 13Original post

You hear this over and over again about HBL Audi service, too. I know 4 people who switched from BMW to Audi and then back again primarily because of the HBL experience. But you guys are right, as long as they are in Tysons and as long as the "love to be seen" crowd hang out there and spend money there, they just don't care. But the manufacturers/importers should care. People don't always differentiate between dealers and manufacturers. And so you have people in one of the wealthier areas of the country saying "Oh I had an Audi once. Nice car, but the service sucks." or "I love my Maserati, I had a Porsche before but their service sucks." HBL's location will bring lots of customers, but how many of them do they keep long term?

POST 14Original post

i agree with you guys. HBL is the worst dealer ship in states period. when my ML had 2k miles i took it in for service and they damaged the rear bumper. they refused to fix the problem at first but later on they decided to hire quick fix guy who painted my car on the parking lot which turned out to be a total crap. it took about 2 years and many tries but it never turned out right and i ended up taking it to private body shop to get it repaired. i'll be laughing if they go out of business.

POST 15Original post

Cisco, Just an FYI. I saw the actual paperwork chargeback bill that my dealership sent to PORSCHE NA for $680.00 to fix my RMS here in Pennsylvania. $1400.00 does seem a bit high. The only charge on the bill was labor. I guess the parts are minimal or just provided by Porsche NA. They said it took about 6.5 hours which calculates to a little over $100.00 an hour. I have seen other posts on this list saying it's an all day job. I assume it depends on how good the tech is.

POST 16Original post

As usual, a little late to the forum, but I will weigh in here. HBL is now part of the Penske organization. Don't know whether that makes them better or worse than before. Have heard some of the same stories from some Potomac members. However, they have hosted the Potomac newcomers party for quite a while. I have had all of my service done, under warranty, at Heishman's or PofArl or what ever they are called now. Find Chad, the service manager very helpful. While they do the DE inspections for free, beware. My 99 C2 is on its second tranny. The first was replaced with no trouble, symptoms being grinding into first with any forward motion. Similar trouble with the first replacement and Heishman's said they would replace it as well. PCNA gets involved and sees my records at the dealership. ATE Blue, ROW M030, regular tech inspections and says that since I track the car, no dice on the tranny. After much hangling, they agree to "gift" a tranny but I gotta pay to put it in and by the way, they want me to pay for a new clutch. I argue but do it. Long story to say the local rep was a pain to begin with, but with Heishman's help, he saw the light and PCNA agreed to refund the $1000 in labor. Now that was July and still no money. Seems as though PAG has forgotten, or at least PCNA, has forgotten that we buy these cars because of their racing heritage and a number of us like to do the weekend warrior thing at the track. Beware doing any track focused stuff with the dealerships. Oh, and if you can erase the memory from your computer after the track events, that is probably a good idea.
