Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause · Original poster
Describe what you you would (or wouldn't) do to satisfy yourself it was the car for you.
Leading evidence: 'car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'car' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test c4s is' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The place where you might test the C4S is on a wet or sandy entrance ramp.

I'd take the test car to a twisty road nearby and see how it feels.

I'd do the test drive to approximate what I plan to do with the car.

Then before you give it back take it to a deserted parking lot, and do a little auto-x using the pavement markings....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Assume you're a seriously considering buying a new C4S 6spd coupe, and the dealer tosses you the keys of his demo. You take it out for a test. Describe what you you would (or wouldn't) do to satisfy yourself it was the car for you.
Cmon Don. Your missing Misty
Your best not going down to the showroom and teasing yourself.
Anyway....you and I both know you will never live without the wind in your hair.......coupe indeed ;-)
Don - With your experience, you already know what to expect from the car. The difference will be if the AWD exceeds your expectations on the entrance and exit ramps and other challenges you enjoy with Misty.
Regarding coupe versus cab, with your move to South Florida, you know there are probably fewer months when you can really enjoy the wind in your hair without breaking a sweat. Good luck with your decision, and make the move only if the dealer truly appreciates and compensates what you have done with Misty.
Don,
Are you seriously thinking about getting a divorce from Misty???
Now that you are down in FLA, there are probably not too many twistied out there (maybe there...are what do I know).
I'd say drive Misty on a specific route that included some exit/entrance ramps, then drive the demo on the same route, for back to back compare.
Then before you give it back take it to a deserted parking lot, and do a little auto-x using the pavement markings....
C4S cab, Don?
I'd ask to keep it for the wekend or week. I'd do the test drive to approximate what I plan to do with the car. If all I plan to do is drive down the boulevard and pick up chicks, that's how I'd test it
. In reality, I do track my car and that is where I get the most justification for owning one of these cars, but I don't expect the dealership to agree to that. I'd take the test car to a twisty road nearby and see how it feels. I would not subject it to drag race launches, and I certainly would not do anything to the test car that I would not normally do to one I own.
You thinking of buying a demo car?
It is an infrequent experience for me, that something happens where my reaction is: "HOLY ****E, so that is how the 4 wheel drive is suppose to feel!!!!!"
Then I spend the next week driving the car with the knowledge that I drive nowhere near even the middle of the performance capability of the car. After a while I settle down with the knowledge that even though I don't really push the car, it is still a magnificent piece of engineering.
Just about when I am at peace with the world again, I have another one of those experiences .......
the capabilities of the C4 with PSM just blows me away, but I have to be really feeling my oats to push the car that hard.............
Don,
I always liked to get a little sideways and the C2's I have driven can accomodate. But having driven a number of Audi Quattros in the snow, I really fell in love with AWD and the smooth 4 wheel drift accelerating in the curves. The place where you might test the C4S is on a wet or sandy entrance ramp. The PSM saved my butt once this summer when I entered a ramp a bit too hot. I almost bought a C2 but changed my mind at the last minute and went for the C4. No regrets.
Hey... ease up on Don!!! An artist can't keep painting the same canvas forever!!! He can however keep the old canvas and get a new one to start working his magic upon!!
Just do both!!
