Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello I just sent my '03 996 in for service to Porsche North Scottdale in Phoenix AZ....hissing from the right from radiator (like it was trying to die!) they said it would be a week before they could look at it! is that normal ? any other Phonecians out there have that experience. i mean for the kind of coin i plunk down monthly for that thing you'd think they could step it up a bit! anything i can do to get them moving along? thanks Jason

POST 2Original post

I was there two weeks ago to buy a C4S. Worst attitude of any Porsche dealer I've dealt with. Penske should be ashamed of himself. I bought one in Nevada instead.

POST 3Original post

Strange, I have been in there several times for minor stuff and never really had to wait. The service was good and polite. It never seemed that busy in the shop which is open to the public. The service advisor I deal with is Dave. I can't speak on the sales dept. as I did not buy my car there. I'd like to know more about that in case I need a new car one day.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

fyi porsche north scottsdale has seen and diagnosed my car! they say it is a busted condensor? yadayadayada 800 bucks to replace! not covered under warranty they speculate that a rock jumped up and busted it anybody else have this happen?

POST 5Original post

It's possible, I guess. But I never heard of anybody else with that problem. If a rock hit it, and you were driving, would you not be able to hear/feel it?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

that was my thinking exactly! and know i did not hear anything hit it! do you think i have any recourse to push the whole warranty issue?

POST 8Original post

dealers getting reaaallly greedy these days....

POST 9Original post

is the payment they receive different for warranty work vs. nonwarranty? i did not think it was different so i think your dealer is being difficult

POST 10Original post

I have a novel idea; get a flashlight, look at the condenser and see for yourself if there is road-debris caused damage, if there is then it's not warranty. Hey, that was simple, now wasn't it? Don't forget, warranty is paid by PCNA, if the claim is rejected the dealer takes the loss. At the moment ALL manufacturers are tightening up on warranty so the days of marginal claims have ended. This is obviously causing a problem to the dealers which is why they expect you to buy a new car before the warranty has expired, because they don't actually want to present any customers with repairs invoices other than service work......

POST 11Original post

I had stone damage to an a/c condensor years ago on a different car that required replacement of the condensor. It's definitely possible to get damaged by road debris, just unlucky. I doubt you would notice it while driving. It's certainly not a warranty issue any more than stone chips or wheel rash would be. I don't think it should have taken them a week to take a look at it though. C.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ok what ended up happening is porsche got the car back to me in 5 days the cost was $861 warranty did not cover it but my comprehensive insuracne did! $500 dollar deductable so insurance sent me a check for $361. porsche showed me both the condesor and the rock!

POST 13Original post

Why in the world would you make a claim for $361 on your insurance. Trust me, this one will come back to bite you in the butt. Seen friends lose coverage or get rates jacked up for that kinda stuff. You have to pick your battles with the insurance industry. Just my $.02

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LVDell thanks for your reply actually it was a comprehensive claim....my understanding is that such claims do nothing to your rates. at least that is what my insurer told me if it were a collision claim that would be different Jason

POST 15Original post

I do not want to speak for your insurer but I got "reviewed" with USAA after 2 claims under COMP coverage (car broken into 2 times). Not very big claims (i.e., stereo, etc.) but then the new premium came up for renewal..........OUCH! I ended up paying more than before and would have covered my claim in a couple years. Needless to say I switched to GEICO and saved a bundle (I know that sounds to much like a TV commercial) Anyway, I am on you r side here and hope it does nothing to your rates. I just think the insurance guy is feeding you a bunch of crap to get more in premiums (justified) further down the road. I am sure it is one crooked business!
