Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am not sure if this is because I tightened the top strut bolts with the suspension unloaded versus how they were adjusted during the last alignment under load.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust during the last alignment' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust during the last alignment' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I can check the bumpstops to see what came from the factory on mine...

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am switching my 01 C2's stock suspension to a US M030 setup. I purchased some of the replacement parts according to the PET but now have a question about the "Additional Spring" or bump stop for the rear struts.
The PET list parts shows part 996 333 105 02 listed without any designation which defaults to the stock condition and 996 333 105 03 for M030. Seeing the different parts numbers I ordered 996 333 105 03s for my suspension. Now that they arrived I see these are shorter than the stock bump stops. There was no indication that this part number is for ROW only which has shorter springs.
Would there be any issue with me using these shorter bump stops in the US M030 rear struts?
Changing from US stock suspension to US M030 suspension. They are not the same. M030 has stiffer springs, different shock valving and thicker sway bars. The stock suspension and the US M030 share the same height.
Most people switch from stock to ROW M030 for the lower ride height but ROW M030 is not legal for stock classes in autox and I want to stay in a stock class.
I have a set of US M030 sitting on a bench at home. I can check the bumpstops to see what came from the factory on mine...
I wouldn't worry about a slightly different bumpstop.
Also, I thought US M030 was lower than stock (maybe 10mm?)
Yes someone please enlighten us. My understanding was that US M030 is lower (and stiffer) than stock. ROW M030 even lower/stiffer, more like PSS9s. ttreat, interested to hear your experience once you get the conversion done.
So I compared the stock springs with the US M030 springs tonight. Front stock springs are slightly taller and rears are noticeably taller. This all sounds right considering they share the same ride height and the stocks are lighter.
I finished the job and took it for a drive. I definitely can feel the difference. The ride is stiffer but not too harsh. I can't to get it to an autos or DE to see the difference.
I also need to get it realigned. Previously the car was aligned with max negative front camber (only could get about -.7 degs). I was surprised that I could push the front struts in much more than the stock ones to get more negative camber (about 1/8"-3/16" more than the stock strut bolts). I am not sure if this is because I tightened the top strut bolts with the suspension unloaded versus how they were adjusted during the last alignment under load.
