Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I plug in the Battery Tender to the quick connect I run the cable down the weatherstrip channel on the RH side of the frunk and out the front of the car beside the RH headlight.
Leading evidence: 'Run cable down the weatherstrip channel' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect on the side you attach' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I use the CTEK maintainer, i got the pigtail that attaches to the battery terminals, so once they are connected correctly, i use the quick connect plug provided with its little snap failsafe connection, i open the hood connect and run the connection through the back of the hood, the hood will then close just fine and i can lock the car and leave it "tending"

I used the hard-wired pigtail harness direct to my battery terminals and run the quick connector out the RH side of the batter cover (there is a slot in the cover it fits perfectly through).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Where would be a good location to bring out the 110 ac plug for the battery tender for a semi permanent installation in the frunk? Im thinking the radiator opening? Any tips on how to route the cable? The car is in storage right now so I cant poke around.
I used the hard-wired pigtail harness direct to my battery terminals and run the quick connector out the RH side of the batter cover (there is a slot in the cover it fits perfectly through). When I plug in the Battery Tender to the quick connect I run the cable down the weatherstrip channel on the RH side of the frunk and out the front of the car beside the RH headlight. This way I can close my frunk when the car is in storage and keep the battery maintained for the season.

What I am trying to accomplish is to avoid having to open the hood every time to plug in the tender. I want the ac power cord to be easily available so I just plug in. Sort of like the arrangement one sees for a block heater on a diesel.
I leave my frunk lid ajar on my 2000 996 and have the cord come out the front. The light is off. The extension cord is a thin gauge. I also only use the tender for winter storage so opening and closing the lid is not a big deal.

I have used this on my previous overland vehicle with one of their on board chargers. I mounted it in the grill and no one ever noticed. On our car's you could mount it somewhere in the bumper or maybe the radiator duct.
I have the CTEK pigtail lead sticking out behind the trailing edge of the frunk lid, near the wipers. (I cut a small slit in the battery cover to allow the pigtail lead to come through.) It doesn't bother me to see it there and it makes connection easy. If I ever find myself trying to impress a P-car snob I suppose I could always open the frunk and shove it inside.
All this sounds way over complicated. My battery maintainer sits on the garage floor. I open the passenger door, toss the cigarette lighter plug on the seat, close door and plug the maintainer into the cigarette lighter socket. It's a no brainer...
All well and good if you opt to use a cigarette lighter type. In my case that wasnt my preference, as I already have a usb port/charger in my lighter socket. There really isnt anything complicated about hooking the quick connector up to the battery. Once complete all you have to do is plug it into its mate on the maintainer - really pretty simple 👍
I use the Battery Tender. It mounts to the wall and has a quick disconnect on the side you attach to the battery. I extended the battery side wiring and ran it into the frunk, behind the liner and down to an opening that comes out close to the headlight. From there I ran it behind the bumper and into the radiator opening on the passenger side. It tucks in behind the grille when not in use.
I'm not one for leaving electrical devices sitting on garage floors. Thoughts of water intrusion wake me up in the middle of the night maybe? I dunno. Anyway. In my home garage the maintainers are hanging on the wall. In my secondary storage garage I have the maintainers sitting on little plastic stools; easier to move around depending on what car is where.
Mines only on the floor in the car capsule - no water intrusion there (unless it reaches the fans at about 12 above ground). If this happens Ill have more to worry about than my battery tender! 🤣 the one for my RAV4 & Side by side in Costa Rica is mounted on the wall 👍
If you don't want to pop the Frunk lid to connect the battery tender, I have seen people route the quick connector under this cap on the cowl cover, then just pop the cap off and plug-in..
My battery tender cable end is in the passenger radiator opening. Ticks away well when not in use. I put split tubing around the wires wherever it came in contact with metal surfaces.
