At the risk of this getting off track internal documents from Porsche indicate mid 2001 model year switch to single row but some experts say that the only sure way to know on a 2000 is the visualy inspect the actual part.

Again same as you, I'm now also looking at replacing h2o pump & t-stat, as preventive.

I have to admit it was a factor in my buying decision / I will most likely replace imsb when I need a new clutch but that could be some time from now .

I know many on here warn of the low mileage examples - I agree that there can be inherent flaws with some of these cars that more use will bring to light before us bottom feeders pick them up
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good looking cab -- great color-- and very nice pics.
Like you, I went for a 2-owner MY 2000 cab. Mine probably had more miles than yours (about 60k when I bought it). Opinions about the MY 2000 vary, but I agree with you about bang for the buck. Depending on your car's service history, you may want to think about the cooling system ... the two preventative maintenance items I did this spring were a water pump and a low-temp thermostat. Also, a coolant flush might not be a bad idea if it hasn't been done in a while.
Again, congrats on the purchase!
Love the sport classic II wheels and the aero bits. Don't worry too much about the low miles...it seems like this is the only place in the world where low miles is apparently a bad thing. Just a note the dual row bearing was in the 99 MY. If you worried, get the IMSB upgrade and sleep at night.
I over paid (25k) but it was close to home and easy I had a time constraint as well. Somtimes it is better to pay more up front and hopefully save in the long run.
Great looking car, mine is very similar to yours in many ways, also a MY00 cab, 2 owner car but the 2nd owner is my brother in law, good deal. Mine still has the oem imsb too but I change my oil & filter every year regardless of mileage. Again same as you, I'm now also looking at replacing h2o pump & t-stat, as preventive. Enjoy your car, cheers...

Very Nice. I agree with the poster who suggested replacing the water pump before you see any sign of trouble. History suggest the pumps are good for between 40K to 60K.
Also, be on the lookout for a failure of the clutch interlock switch. Mine started to fail after about 55K of mostly stop and go driving. This swith is the device that prevents your starter from engaging unless the clutch is fully depressed. When they start to fail, you get slow cranking or no cranking of the started, but intermittently. Enjoy!
wyo,
Btw, I noticed that you do not have the MKI GT3 front bumper yet and so I think you may want to consider getting one in the near future because it does really work with the rest of the Aerokit package especially side-skirts. Before I upgraded mine with GT3 front bumper, side-skirts and rear-bumper GT trims, I noticed that my front nose was very light with "loose" feeling at higher highway speeds as air rush under the car and tend to lift it up. But the more aggressive and lower front GT3 bumper, the front end is a lot more planted and stable at any speeds, a very nice improvement. You can probably pick up a used one on ebay for cheap. In case you pick one up and have it painted, you should also paint your rear bumperettes and center console, just give you some Mods idea that will transform your car look :-) Cheers,
Like Alpine is telling you, good luck finding a "cheap" used one. I looked hard for well over a year and found nothing. Ended up getting a GT3 Tek and couldn't be happier(and saved quite a few bucks).
I agree on the bumper the mk1 Gt3 bumper looked great on my old boxster. If you keep an eye open you will find one. It took me 2 years and cost me $600, but I was able to source one. Just put up a wtb advertisement in the classifieds and someone will respond. Regarding which imsb you have just compare your vin to the class action lawsuit list.
