Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The pedal feel is much better than before and I was a bit overdue for a change, although my old OEM fluid was still clear, clean and it had checked out ok a few months earlier when I used a copper brake fluid test strip (which is why I waited a little bit past the 2 year mark.).
Leading evidence: 'Use (still new) motive pressure bleeder' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I too used a Motive bleeder for the first time a few months ago along with brake rotor and pad replacement.

After my first oil change bill from Porsche San Diego (along with some other work), I found Rennlist and have saved a bundle doing my own routine and some non-routine maintenance.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Today, I used my (still new) Motive pressure bleeder to flush the brakes using ATE Super Blue brake fluid. I took my time and while taking off the wheels did my annual wheel barrel cleaning and waxing with pinnacle liquid souveran. Took me about 1.5 hours from start to finish, including test drive. The pedal feel is much better than before and I was a bit overdue for a change, although my old OEM fluid was still clear, clean and it had checked out ok a few months earlier when I used a copper brake fluid test strip (which is why I waited a little bit past the 2 year mark.).
I'm close to 70,000 miles on the clock and purchased the car with 39,000.
Water pump is next on the list, but that won't be for a little while longer.
Could not have done any of this without Rennlist, its supporters and vendors.
The lesson is that an upfront investment in some very basic tools quickly pays for itself and you can do it even if you have never worked on a car before, just like me. If that is not reason enough, you also can tell your wife, girlfriend, significant other etc. that you are too busy for their "to do" list, since you have to change your brake fluid, oil, coolant, wax your car etc.
I also wanted to thank Rennlist and all of the experts here on the site. Before owning my Porsche, I had never done any of my own maintenance work. After my first oil change bill from Porsche San Diego (along with some other work), I found Rennlist and have saved a bundle doing my own routine and some non-routine maintenance.
Its always good to hear another Porsche owner enthusiastic about maintaining their car. I still get satisfaction out of successfully performing maintenance on my cars, and I agree that the info here on Rennlist as well as a few other places (Pelican Parts for example) really helps a person understand what to expect for the task.
I too used a Motive bleeder for the first time a few months ago along with brake rotor and pad replacement. All very easy and straightforward I thought.
I ordered it online a while back when I heard it was banned. Some retailers were still selling it with a notice that it was no longer DOT approved. I have 1 liter left and 2 ATE gold so I'm good for the next 4 years or so.
