Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
We found that it was the bushing on the front left control arm link.
Leading evidence: 'bushing' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'bushing' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill with synthetic ptfe or silicone' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When they go they puncture, squirt some lubrication inside it with a syringe filled with synthetic PTFE or silicone.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, firstly I would like to say a hello to my fellow 996ers. I am not new to Porsches or this forum ( I also own a 964 ) but had not yet taken the opportunity.
Now to pick your brains!!
I purchased a 996 to be my daily drive at the end of last year, it is a 2000 C4 Tip. Since then I have spent a small fortune trying to sort out knocking from the suspension.
To date it has had new front top mounts, new coffin arms all round, new tuning forks up front and anti-roll bar bushes all round! Despite all this it is creaking, banging, knocking and generally P*&^ing me off!!
Any thoughts??
I had a lot of creaking and found these the culprint.

Metallic sound from suspension when going over bumps. Easy to check if you take a rubber hammer and gently hit the links from the underside.
Thanks, will order up and try those. I tend to get most of the creaking when turning the wheel. It does it even when stationary. Could it still be those?
I would say no, it would not be the droplinks. A friend of mine had a problem with clunking, I remembered this video and followed the instructions.

What about both inner and outer tie rods? Your description of it making noise when turning sounds like they maybe bad. And the fact that you get quite a bit of corrosion over there.
