Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Turned out to an overpriced 75K mile '04 C4S with an attempt to hide an accident with a poor spray job - I honestly think with a few pointer my 8-year-old could have found the evidence of that.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at a C4S with approx 70K miles on it for $34K. Haven't seen it yet(later today) so can't comment on condition. Any comment off the top of your heads about that price?
My question though is how much does mileage affect the price of one of these car. For example if the same car had 30 miles less on it, how should that affect the pricing.
Thanks, any comments will be helpful
You didn't list the year, which is a big factor.
If it's a 2002/2003:
Assuming condition is close to immaculate, $34K is a reasonable
asking
price, but you should be able to pick it up for high 20s to very low 30s (not mid-20s, unless the seller is super desperate).
Regarding mileage affecting price... I think you would be looking at the full $34K if it had roughly 30K miles on it (again, assuming 2002/2003).
That's my opinion, from looking at tons of car prices from many sources over the past year.
There always seem to be some odd price outliers though (ex: I saw a relatively low mileage 2003 TT for around $35K or so recently).
If the car is in absolutely perfect shape with all records from new with all of the preventative maintenence completed recently (IMS/RMS/Water pump/Thermostat), records of frequent oil changes, and if it's a 2004, it is worth low 30s.
If it's older (02), no records, and has heavy wear on the seats/paint/overall condition, it isn't worth anywhere near $34. More like $26 Those are the extremes.
A C4S in the mid-20s should have well over 100K miles on it.
Despite what some people might think prices are still high on the C4S. In fact, based on what I've seen, the price has been relatively flat over the past couple of years. I'm more familiar with pricing on the cabs but I think $34K isn't an unreasonable price for a coupe in excellent condition with 70K miles. Always negotiate for less but the seller isn't off their rocker with the sales price. I wouldn't, however, go in with an expectation that you're going to pick it up for $25K. Might it happen? Sure. You never know unless you ask. You can also find a Turbo out there for $20K. Good luck with that nightmare.
Just my opinion,
-Eric
I think the 2004-2005 C4S would be in the same price range, somewhere around $30K would be fair. 34K is not far off the mark for a 2005, IMO.
Mileage over 40K but below 90-100K won't really affect price that much. That's a 10 year old car driven less than 9K miles per year. Seems fine. I would be shooting exactly where you are looking, around 6-7K per year.

Pricing aside, one should also consider if it's a car with the exact options and color combination you want, whether you wanted it yesterday, or are willing to wait potentially months to find that perfect combo to appear again. Suddenly a couple thousand difference off your target might not seem so bad to have something today that you could be enjoying. Remember when it comes to 996's, these aren't exactly investments. At the same time, no need to get ripped off but ballpark ranges shouldn't be excluded either if everything fits your criteria.

Ran away!
I've been looking at 996tt or c4s for about 4 months now I have not found anything close to your prices..I am looking at a 04 c4s in perfect condition with 35k miles they r asking $43.. & just passed on a 01 tt with 50k they wouldn't budge off of $45 & it was not in great shape. One more 01 tt with 24k sold for $50 it was real nice but also wouldn't move on price & sold it days after my offer was turned down.
