Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace tuesday' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'due' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coins in the tracks' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
We think the problem was due to the seat strap (underneath the seat near your butt cheeks, there is a plastic strap holding in the cushion) broke.

Suggestion
Since you were cleaning under the seat, look to see if you pulled out one of the flex drive cables that go from the motor to the gearbox.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I clearly have an electrical issue as I recently posted that my car would occaisionally not start after entering the car after disarming the alarm. I would have to turn the alarm on, then back off to start my car.
I was going to take it to my Indy next week, but today, I moved my seat all the way back to take out my floor matts for cleaning, and now the seat won't move forward. The other seat functions work fine. Also, the memory was set to my saved positions in M1, M2 and the key memory, none of which will move the seat forward. I checked and there is nothing in the tracks.
When I move the lever forward, I hear a click, but no other sounds. Any help would be appreciated.
Oh crap...I hope this is not the problem I had back in July this year. Search for my post from July. Anyways, it was my seat module and I was able to find a used one in California. However, it was $500 used and another $200 to put in. We think the problem was due to the seat strap (underneath the seat near your butt cheeks, there is a plastic strap holding in the cushion) broke. Therefore the seat was pushing down on the module without me knowing. eventually it shorted it out we think. It was always a little soft towards the back of the seat bottom. My seat would move back and down. Eventually it would move all the way back and down and also the seat back was all the way laying back as well. I took it to an ulpostery shop locally here in Arizona and they were able to fix it. It took a couple days in the shop. The module is directly under the driver seat mounted to the floor.
I just noticed your in Scottsdale....Call Todd at AZ Autotops. They fixed my seat and will remember if you mention. They are off of Hayden Rd. near McKellips in Scottsdale. Porsche Scottsdale recommended I go there.
It was horrible...I was planning on a weekend trip over the 4th to Payson with the top down. Didn't happen. That morning I moved the seat back to vacuum and it wouldn't move forward. I honestly didn't think much of it so I tried moving it up, it wouldn't. Moved it down, and it did. Moved the seat back, back, and it did. It seat bottom would only go back and down. The seat back would only go down, would not move back forward. The only other thing other than the module would be perhaps something stuck in the seat rails. I'll be curious to what your problem is. Call me with any questions. We should plan a ride sometime around here. The weather is getting great.

I was able to get to my Indy this afternoon. Looks like a bad seat motor. He was able to manually move the seat into a comfortable driving position for the weekend. Having the motor replaced Tuesday. Extended Warranty: All electric motors are covered.
