Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Observations: 1. Does sound little more aggressive especially on start up, downshifts and over 5000rpm. 2. I paid like $60 off eBay for a 4ply hose and caps. Totally NOT worth spending more than that on it. Hose and cap are orange, if they were red or blue probably worth extra 5hp and carbon fiber 50hp :/ 3. I can assure you there was no magic horsepower boost. 4. Was a pain in the *** and I just made filter changes 4x more difficult. 5. Why is working on your car in SFL such a pain in the *** either 100 degrees or 100% humidity. Today was latter.

POST 2Original post

My grandfather lived in Miami and died there as well. I left a foot of snow behind in Utah right after Christmas to help my dad get his things in order. I went for a motorcycle ride as a passenger to get beer and look at babes with one of Grandpas neighbors. The driver thought I was nuts riding in a tee shirt. and no jacket. I was still "hot" at midnight on a motorcycle in December wearing a tee shirt and Levis. So, this brings me to my question. Where in Miami does one find "cold" air?

By driving faster rain or shine

Unless I'm missing something, this looks like an airbox muffler bypass, not a Cold Air Intake.

POST 5Original post

I also did a silicon intake hose. My observations mostly matched, but not completely. I found the new intake sound to be intoxicating and much more than a 'little' more aggressive So much so that when I did the Gundo/Fister mod to my mufflers, I found myself really disappointed that the intake sound was now more hidden behind a louder exhaust note. I paid $36 on ebay for a Silicon intake hose kit. It did not come with the resonator cap, but it did come with much nicer hose clamps. Hose quality looked excellent, and there have been no issues or deterioration of the hose so far. For the resonator cap, I used a 1-1/2" rubber pipe cover and another hose clamp. Another $5 at Ace Hardware. None expected, none felt, though perhaps a bit of additional throttle smoothness? Really? I thought installation was a piece of cake, and loosening a single hose clamp on the hose for filter access takes maybe 5 seconds? OK, a minute if I don't already have the right nut driver in my hand. Can't help you with that one... My intake:
