Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The display is shot on my Non Bose radio. What is a reasonable fix? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Start by cleaning the contacts on the removable faceplate. See if that fixes it. Just a start.

POST 3Original post

I forgot to post that I had the display go bad on my CR-220. The failure was due to the circuit board inside the removable faceplate, not the display itself. I had another old CR220 with other issues, and I was able to remove the board and swap it out to fix my problems. More detail at the bottom of this thread (login required) Also a bit of info on this old thread If your problem is actually the LCD display, I may have one. Another thought: Lots of people on this board are upgrading to double-din aftermarket radio units. That means they must have the old factory radios available. I bet you can pick on up cheap...
