Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I pull the ABS fuse (to keep PSM from interfering during autocrossing), ABS and/or PSM idiot lights will most likely come on, correct? If so, will these disappear by simply replacing the ABS fuse or is it a more involved process?

POST 2Original post

Sounds right. The system would react the same to blowing a fuse and then replacing it

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hope you're right. It's just that I don't have a Durametric yet and I'd hate to have to visit a stealership just to get the idiot lights to go away... Gorgeous pics BTW, Brett. The landscape shots have me daydreaming here at work!

POST 4Original post

Thanks! Always nice to hear..I think I need to make a 911 specific gallery =)

POST 5Original post

Why not just push the button to deactivate PSM? I know it doesn't deactivate it 100%, but I would think it is sufficient for autocrossing...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I'm not mistaken, that solution will only last until the first corner. After I hit the brakes hard for the first time, PSM will turn itself on again, won't it?

POST 8Original post

with PSM disabled: ABS is always on, PSM is always on under braking. Pull the ABS fuse and it will deploy the spoiler and disable PSM for good. Every thing goes back to normal when you plug the fuse back in.

Excellent. Thanks, jumper!

Not exactly, PSM will continue to do some stuff in the background even when it's "off." I have seen the same posts here and there that claim that PSM reactivates after triggering ABS, but that has not been my case. Even on a skid pad, PSM did not turn itself back on. Pulling the fuse will definitely keep it off - but increases your risk of flat-spotting your 911's pricey tires.

Great! With winter coming up in a few months, Ive been having thoughts of freshly covered parking lots. PSM, even "off" puts a big damper on them. I'm tempted to make a switched fuse for easy on/off

POST 13Original post

You may want to try this in a vacant parking lot first before your big event. In my experience, every time that I have pulled an ABS fuse (on my E46 M3 and 986S), it results in way too much front brake bias, and almost instantly locks up the front tires. I am guessing that Bosch works with the manufacturer's to require a natually over biased front brake system for their software to work. Good luck.

POST 15Original post

Switching PSM off does not disable anything during brake use, and NEVER disables the LSD simulation.
