I'm trying to find a Carpet for my 996. There are a few on ebay that state that they do not have the "passenger side bose cut out." Can anyone tell me if this is a simple hole that I can cut in the carpet or is it actually a different shaped carpet that is not compatable? Thanks

That sounds like the carpet for a cabriolet/targa with the Bose subwoofer in the passenger footwell. These may not be the best examples but take a look. The first link to me looks like it has the Bose system. It's not really just a "cut out" it's also a molded part of the carpet on the left side of the right footwell that conforms to the bump from the sub woofer mounting. Far as I know only Cabs need it? (Assuming all stock Bose/most system.. ) Depends on if your getting the floor piece or the bit that covers the side of the console.

I have a 2003 targa, and it definitely has the bulge in the passenger side footwell. I don’t know if other models with the same stereo have the subwoofer in the same location or not.
