Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok everyone I have been doing the research for new mufflers,
I just picked up a 99 c2 last week. everything checked good and well the price was right too. the only thing I do not like about the car is that it has the Fab speed muffler bypass on it. Just to loud for everyday driving.
so I am just not shure which way I want to go.
No droning would be a plus. and no it did not come with the stock mufflers.
I have been on youtube listening but thats not the same as in person. just looking for idea's
thanks Jeff
A couple of years ago I put on a pair of Fabspeed Maxflo Valvetronic mufflers with stock cats. They have a remote control valve that opens a large butterfly in a bypass pipe (like the gundo hacks I've seen, only a bigger diameter pipe. They sound good when closed, and great when open. Very little difference between open & closed until you get on it. No droning, not loud, but great when you rev it under load with the valves open. In fact, I'm considering just wiring them open all the time since it defaults to closed and you have to press the button each time you start the car if you want them open. They are pricey, but I feel it was worth it.
I think the cheapest option is to buy a set of stock mufflers used, and then send them straight to FDMotorsports for the Fister D mod
Or you could get them hacked at a local exhaust shop for lesser money. Any other muffler could be more expensive, unless you find a really amazing deal.
well I found a set of stock mufflers and I will send them out when I get them for the fister mod.
I did like the sound of that.
thanks for all the input guys.
and yes I will get pictures of the car posted soon.
