Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/wheel-rim-size-calculator says that my 17x 7" front rims can accommodate a 215/45, but stock is a 205/50. Other than looks (maybe) and giving a bit more traction, are there any issues with going 10cm wider than stock? I'm just looking for real world feedback. I would guess that wider tires would feel a bit heavier at the steering wheel. Is it noticable? Will it have any negatives in suspension and steering parts wear ? 🙏

It's 10mm and if you look at the Boxster pages it seems a lot move up to 225/45/17. More 986s with 17" wheels.

Yeah, 10cm wider would not fit, i checked😂. For now I'm sticking with the stock sizes, the last thing I want is more road noise, and this is not a track car. Thanks!
